WRFC Another busy weekend!
The games just keep on coming
Our first team had a very frustrating loss to @bournemouth_rfc_official despite scoring 4 tries to 2, and the home team won with a last-minute penalty (33-32). We go again.
Our second team's dominant rugby display led to a resounding victory over Lock Heath Pumas 1st and further team cohesion (57-10).
Our third team had a tense and fairly even first half but pulled away with four second-half tries to overcome a spirited Alresford first effort (29-5).
Our Knights (the old boys) had a great game securing a strong win vs andover 3rds. Both sides fought well and the game was played with respect (12-52).
Our Academy travelled to trojans for the second week in a row and put in another strong challenge, the game finished 17-12. A losing bonus point. We go again next week v basingstoke away.
Our U16 boys played a tough league game against a strong and well-organised Havant side. Despite a concerted defensive effort from Winchester, Havant finished 42-10.
Our U15 boys played Beckenham in a friendly at home. We showed good spirit & team play. Ultimately, the team were defeated, but there were many positives to take & demonstrating that we are making progress every week. Well done, Guys!
Our U13 boys travelled to the Richmond Tournament to face a high-quality field of teams from across England. The A team lost 1-0 in a thrilling semifinal to the eventual Performance Tournament winners Canterbury. The B Team came away as Bowl winners in the Development Tournament.
Our U12 boys travelled to Richmond and played in the Performance Tournament, where an impressive level of rugby was on show. The team lost to (eventual winners) Richmond and Maidenhead on the pool stage before beating Twickenham. They lost to Battersea Ironside in the playoffs, playing against some physically strong and well-drilled teams.
Great effort from across the club.
Finally…
Don't forget to keep an eye out for the Pre Game lunch on Saturday, where the 1st team entertain Guildford. Booking via this link

In my eyes, seeing the fatties dominate a scrum is just as beautiful as watching Cheslin Kolbe or Finn Russell.
